Process to Stop or Start an Individual Pump in PumpLink

From time to time you may wish to temporarily stop one or more pumps from being able to deliver fuel. This can be done either pre-emptively or even while someone is actually pumping fuel.

Where you intend to stop all pumps, you can simply use the ‘Stop all Pumps’ icon in the PumpLink ‘Sales’ screen; however, in this guide, we will focus on the method to stop individual pumps.

This feature is only available PumpLink Version 10 Build 16.5 and above.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

This ‘software’ stop is for temporary / security purposes. It should not be used as a permanent/long-term means of stopping a pump from delivering fuel and especially not for the purposes of making the pumps inoperable when you are closed. It is safer to actually turn the pumps off (using your pump power switches) in these instances.

If someone is actually pumping fuel, using the function to stop the pump will halt the current fuel delivery (and make the portion of fuel already pumped available to sell in PumpLink). However, depending on the type and/or version of your

Enabler, the pump may automatically return to an ‘active’ state when the nozzle has been hung up, so you may need to ‘Stop’ the pump again after the nozzle has been hung up if you want to temporarily disable it from use.

Stopping and Starting Individual Pumps:

In the main sales screen, click the ‘Stop or Start a Pump’ icon:

This will open the following window:

On this Window simply click on the pump that you wish to Stop or Start.

Crosses on this screen indicate pumps that are already in a ‘stopped’ state, if they are clicked, they will be started. Pumps displaying without the cross are currently operational, click them to stop them.

As soon as a button is clicked on this window, it will close and you can continue using PumpLink as normal.

On the Pumps displayed on the left side of PumpLink - you will see a red circular / octagonal icon with a line through it against any pumps that are in a “Stopped” state:

To make the pumps operational again, simply click the ‘Stop or Start a Pump’ icon and click the pump you wish to reactivate.
