Generally, when an automotive workshop is sold, a lot of the value the new owner is purchasing is held within the workshop management system, such as the client records, vehicle service reminders and service history. In this article we help clarify the options we provide to help with this process.



Convert to webSAM


webSAM is our latest technology solution, providing a fully online workshop management solution that integrates with Xero.


We can efficiently get the new owner up and running on webSAM using our data conversion tools to convert Synergy data into webSAM, such as client, product and vehicle details (including reminders and service history).

Please let us know if you are going with this option by emailing sales@sam.co.nz as we will need to ensure arrangements are made to schedule the data conversion and prepare the new webSAM system.


This webSAM option is only for Automotive Workshops (Mechanics) as webSAM is a workshop management system. If you are using our PumpLink point of sale solution, this option may not be suitable as PumpLink does not integrate with webSAM or Xero.


Retain Synergy


If the new owners will be retaining Synergy, there are a few options, which are all outlined in our Synergy License Change Form which can be downloaded here:

This form should be completed and signed by both parties (new and current/old owner) and emailed to samadmin@sam.co.nz



If the new owner is retaining the Synergy program, you may need to clear the oustanding balances on customer or supplier accounts by entering manual debit/credit journals.


Shortly after we receive these forms, the new owner will be sent an Order and Account Application form to have their new account and Software Rental/Support & Maintenance Plan set up. If you haven't heard back within 2-3 business days, please call 09 583 2455 to follow up.
